All I Want for Christmas is a New Wardrobe

It’s officially November, which means we have entered the season of peppermint mochas at Starbucks, preparing for Thanksgiving break, and the question that arises frequently:

“What do you want for Christmas?”

The answer here should be simple. At any given point throughout the year, I can typically think of at least five things I would love to have. When I am directly asked for a Christmas list, though, I seem to forget about every item I have ever wanted.

Here are some ideas for your 2022 Christmas list, so that next time you get that persistent call from your mom or text from your aunt, you will know exactly how to answer.

UGGS

Uggs are officially back, and my middle school self who proudly rocked Bailey Bow Uggs every day could not be more excited. These nostalgic shoes could not be more comfortable and are perfect for the cold weather approaching! The platform Disquette style slippers elevate loungewear looks, making them appear more put together, despite feeling like a cloud on your feet. The Ultra Mini style has also gained popularity, with celebrities like Kendall Jenner and Emily Ratajkowski incorporating them into their street style. The Ultra Minis paired with scrunched white socks and leggings leads to an effortlessly stylish everyday look.

JACKETS

A new jacket is the perfect addition to your wishlist. Regardless of your personal style, jackets are a necessity, and can be the perfect place to add your own flare to an outfit. Have you wanted an edgy addition for a night out on the town? Leather jackets are the perfect place to experiment. Looking for something more functional and trendy, yet still cute? The Aritzia Puffer needs a spot on your list. Prioritizing comfort? The FreePeople Ruby Jacket can be easily layered for a snuggly and stylish outfit.

SWEATSHIRTS

As much as I would love to say that I am dressing up everyday while at school, my 9:30 class in Canisius is my runway for a sweatshirt and flare yoga pants combination. However, this does not mean that comfortable clothes need to be boring! Unique sweatshirts can make the look that took ten seconds to assemble stay in others’ minds for the rest of the day. One of my favorite stores is Boys Lie, which features adorable pieces with witty and relatable sayings. My secret weapon to cute sweatshirts, though, is Etsy. On Etsy, you can customize a sweatshirt to get any design you want! Have a favorite quote? Song lyric? It can easily be printed the way you want it on the hoodie of your choosing. I recently ordered a sweatshirt which reads “Love You to Fairfield and Back” across the back of it. Imagine your dream sweatshirt and add it to your list!

STATEMENT JEANS
Christmas is the time to ask for things that you may not normally purchase. The type of outfit that makes me most confident is a fun, statement pair of pants, with a simple tight top. Go out of your comfort zone this year and ask for something different! My favorite place for fun denim is Urban Outfitters, but places like Pacsun, FreePeople, and Altar’d State all have amazing options!

LULULEMON

Look around Fairfield’s campus at any given point and you are likely to see a lot of Lululemon. The brand is popular for a good reason. From the classic leggings, to the Align top, to sweatshirts and so much more, pieces from Lululemon are guaranteed to become a staple in your closet and last for years to come. The price tags on this activewear can be steep, so asking for them on a Christmas list is perfect! This year, I plan to ask for the Scuba Hoodie and Nulu Flares.

So, next time you’re hit with the task of curating a Christmas List, turn back to this article. Here, you end up with an answer to this daunting question and an exciting new wardrobe. Be sure to return to campus spring semester ready to rock these amazing looks and pieces!
